I think it's important to highlight that it's not just the students who need educating but the teachers as well. Because we can put all kinds of money and material towards this kind a project but without the teachers themselves understanding the importance of it, then it's just a wasted effort.

Liked your approach of showing that gaming does not have to be an end point, that they can lead to advances in other technologies, that they can serve as a training ground of sorts.

I think gaming has great potential as a learning tool. People would approach something classified as a game with a more relaxed attitude then they would a traditional learning tool, and as a result would absorb more of the knowledge being presented.

I think social networks do have the potential to help bridge the digital divide because they can act as stepping stones in helping people try other programs and expanding their computer knowledge.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the newest technology and everything it can do that we tend to forget, or overlook, the limitations of technology. In this case trying to replace actual training with simulations would be a mistake.
